This free Airbnb cleaning fee calculator estimates the cleaning fee to charge for each stay, so the payout you receive after Airbnb’s host fee still covers what cleaning costs you. It runs in your browser, and you do not need an account or sign-up to use it. Enter your cleaner’s pay, laundry, supplies and any other per-stay costs, then choose your host fee structure. The tool shows the fee to charge and the per-night amount that comes from it.
This page is for hosts of short-term vacation rentals who want a cleaning fee that matches real costs. The results are estimates based on the numbers you enter, so they change when your costs or Airbnb’s fee rate change. The tool does not know what cleaners charge in your area, so treat the defaults as placeholders and replace them with your own figures.

How to use the Airbnb cleaning fee calculator
- Under Cleaner cost, choose By the hour or Flat price per turnover.
- If you chose By the hour, enter the number of hours in Cleaning hours and the hourly pay in Cleaner’s rate ($/hr). The default is 3 hours at $35.
- If you chose Flat price per turnover, enter the amount in Flat price per turnover ($) instead.
- Enter your laundry cost in Laundry ($). The default is $25.
- Enter your cost for Supplies and restocking ($). The default is $12.
- Enter any other per-stay cost in Other per stay ($).
- Enter your typical length of stay in Average stay (nights). The default is 3 nights.
- Under Airbnb fee structure, choose Split fee, host pays 3% or Host-only fee 15.5%.
- Read the cleaning fee and the per-night amount in the result.
Read the result in two parts. The cleaning fee is the amount to charge for each stay. The per-night amount divides that fee by your average stay, so you can see how much it adds to each night a guest books.
Your settings are stored in the page address. Select Copy link to share the exact estimate or to bookmark it. Select Print to print the result. On a phone, wide tables scroll sideways inside their box.
How much should I charge for an Airbnb cleaning fee?
Charge enough to cover your real cost for each turnover, adjusted for the host fee Airbnb takes. The tool first adds your cleaner cost, laundry, supplies and other per-stay costs. It then divides that total by (1 minus the host fee rate) and rounds up to the next dollar.
With the default inputs, the cost per turnover is $142.00 (3 hours at $35 is $105, plus $25 laundry, plus $12 supplies). With the 3% split fee, the cleaning fee is $147.00. With the 15.5% host-only fee, it is $169.00. Rounding up keeps the payout after the host fee at or above your cost.
Does Airbnb take a fee from the cleaning fee?
Yes. Airbnb’s host fees apply to fees you charge, and the cleaning fee is one of them. With the split fee, most hosts pay 3%, though some pay more, and hosts in Brazil and Mexico pay 4%. With the host-only fee, most hosts pay 15.5%, typically between 14% and 16%, and hosts in Brazil and Mexico pay 16%.
These rates come from Airbnb’s Help Center, as read on October 20, 2026. Your own rate may differ, so check your account before you set a fee.
Should the cleaning fee cover laundry and supplies?
It can, and this tool includes laundry, supplies and other per-stay costs in the total it uses to set the fee. If you leave those costs out, you pay them yourself each time a guest checks out. Including them makes the fee reflect what each stay really costs you.
Whether to include them is your decision. The tool gives you the figure with and without each cost, so you can see how much each one adds.
How much do Airbnb cleaners charge?
Rates vary by area and by the type of cleaning. Thumbtack lists a national range of $179 to $257 for vacation rental cleaning. Use your own local quotes when you can, because they reflect the cleaners you would actually hire.
Enter your cleaner’s rate in the tool, whether it is hourly or a flat price per turnover, to see how it affects the fee.
Is a high cleaning fee bad for bookings?
It can be, if the total price looks high compared with similar listings. Guests usually compare the total cost of a stay, not the cleaning fee alone. A higher cleaning fee also adds more to the per-night cost of short stays.
Check the per-night figure the tool shows, and compare it with the total you would charge for a typical stay in your area. A fee that covers your real costs is a reasonable basis for your price.
Frequently asked questions
What if my average stay is shorter than 3 nights?
Change Average stay (nights) to the length that matches most of your bookings. The cleaning fee is set per stay, so a shorter average stay means each night carries a larger share of that fee. For example, the same fee spread over 2 nights adds more to each night than it does over 3.
Is this tool affiliated with Airbnb?
No. Airbnb is named only to describe what the tool is used for, and this site is not affiliated with Airbnb. The result is your estimate, not a quote from Airbnb. If a cleaner gives you a quote, compare it with the cost the tool shows.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The tool is free and runs in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded. You do not need an account or sign-up to use it.
Can I save my estimates?
Saving estimates and branded quotes are coming soon, and they are not available yet. Until then, use Copy link to keep the exact estimate or Print to save a printed copy.
Why are the numbers already filled in?
The defaults are 3 hours at $35, $25 laundry, $12 supplies, the 3% split fee and 3 nights. They show a complete example as soon as the page loads. Replace each one with your own figures before you set a fee.
Does the tool work on a phone?
Yes. The page works on phones, and wide tables scroll sideways inside their box. The steps are the same as on a computer.
