Restaurant cleaning services cost depends mostly on floor area and how many nights a week you book, and this calculator, set to Restaurant, estimates that cost per visit and per month. You enter the floor area, how many times a week the space is cleaned, and the state you choose. For example, a 5,000 sq ft restaurant cleaned five times a week comes to about $2,940–$4,015 per month under the default settings. The tool is free, runs in your browser, and needs no account or sign-up.
Restaurant cleaning costs more per square foot than office cleaning because kitchens, grease and restrooms slow the work. The default rate is 1,200 sq ft per cleaner-hour for a restaurant, against 2,000 for an office. Use the estimate to set a budget or to check whether a cleaning company’s bid is in a reasonable range. It is a planning figure, not a local quote.

How to use the restaurant cleaning cost calculator
- Enter the Area to clean in square feet. Use the floor area of the space the cleaner will work in.
- Set Type of space to Restaurant. This sets the default production rate to 1,200 sq ft per cleaner-hour.
- Choose Cleanings per week from 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 or 7. Pick the schedule you plan to use.
- Optional: enter your own Own production rate in sq ft per hour if a cleaning company has given you its figure. Leave it empty to use the default for the type.
- Choose a State from the menu. Keep US average if you do not know your local wage level, or pick your state to scale the estimate.
- Read the monthly price range and the receipt. The receipt shows the production rate, hours per visit, hourly rate, price per visit, visits per month, price per month, and the cost per square foot per visit and per month.
- Check the table below the result. It shows the same space priced for each type of building, so you can see how a restaurant compares with an office or a warehouse.
Read the monthly range as the cost of the schedule you picked.
The Print button prints the result. The Copy link button puts your settings into the page address, so you can share the exact estimate or bookmark it.
How much do restaurant cleaning services cost?
A restaurant cleaning service is priced per visit, and the monthly total is that price multiplied by the number of visits per week and then by 52 divided by 12, which converts weeks to months. Under the tool’s model, a 5,000 sq ft restaurant cleaned five times a week costs $135–$185 per visit, or $2,940–$4,015 per month.
The hours per visit equal square feet divided by the production rate. At 1,200 sq ft per cleaner-hour, 5,000 sq ft takes 4.17 hours. The hourly rate is $31.00–$42.36 (mid $35.42), and 5% is added for supplies.
How much does restaurant cleaning cost per square foot?
Divide the price by the area. For the same 5,000 sq ft restaurant, that is about $0.027–$0.037 per sq ft per visit, or about $0.59–$0.80 per sq ft per month.
In this model the rate does not change with size, because hours scale with area. A 10,000 sq ft office comes to $0.016–$0.022 per sq ft per visit, the same as a 5,000 sq ft office at $80–$110 per visit. Compare the restaurant’s $0.59–$0.80 per month with the office’s $0.35–$0.48 for 5,000 sq ft, and the restaurant is about 1.7 times higher at the same size.
Is kitchen hood cleaning included?
No. Kitchen exhaust hood cleaning is a separate specialist service, and the tool does not price it. NFPA 96 sets how often hoods must be inspected and cleaned based on cooking volume, so ask for a separate quote.
How often should a restaurant be professionally cleaned?
Choose the number of visits your operation needs, and check local health and fire rules that may set minimums. Because the price is charged per visit, moving from five to seven cleanings a week raises the monthly total by 40%. Seven visits a week multiplies the visit count by 1.4 compared with five, so the schedule is one of the biggest levers on the monthly figure.
Why does a restaurant cost more to clean than an office?
A restaurant takes more time per square foot to clean. The tool’s default rate is 1,200 sq ft per cleaner-hour for a restaurant and 2,000 for an office, so the same area needs about 67% more hours. Kitchens, grease and restrooms are the main reasons the work is slower.
Frequently asked questions
What changes when I pick a different state?
Choosing a state scales the estimate by that state’s median cleaner wage from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, compared with the national median of $17.71 per hour. For example, California’s median is $20.51 and Mississippi’s is $12.19. The result is an estimate, not a quote for your area.
Which costs are left out of the estimate?
A first deep clean, floor care such as stripping, waxing or carpet extraction, windows, and restroom paper supplies are usually priced separately. Add these to the monthly figure if your contract includes them. Kitchen hood cleaning is also outside the estimate.
Is this a real quote from a cleaning company?
No. The tool uses a standard model of production rates, wages and a 2.0 commercial markup, plus 5% for supplies. Use the result to compare bids, and get written quotes from cleaning companies for your own space.
Can I share or print my restaurant estimate?
Yes. Click Copy link to share or bookmark the exact settings you used, or click Print to print the result.
What is the production rate?
The production rate is how many square feet one cleaner covers in an hour. The default for a restaurant is 1,200 sq ft. If a cleaning company gives you its own rate, enter it in Own production rate, and the hours and price update from that figure.
How do I compare a bid with the estimate?
Use the same square footage and the same cleanings per week in the calculator, then compare the monthly range with the bid’s monthly total. A bid far above or below the range is worth asking about, because the difference may come from a different production rate or from services the bid includes.
